Asphalt Mixing Plants

Asphalt mixing plant is also called asphalt mixture plant. In asphalt concrete road construction, this mechanical equipment is used to finish the processes of mixing, transporting, paving and compacting.

1. According to production process, asphalt mixing plants include batch type and continuous type.
Batch type asphalt mixing plant has the following features: all the ingredients are measured in batches and then are mixed in the mixing cylinder. The finished mixture will be dumped and then next batch begins. As a result, recycling mixing processes are formed.
In continuous type asphalt mixing plant, all the raw materials are continuously put into the mixing cylinder and the finished mixtures are continually dumped from the mixing cylinder. In structure, drying and mixing of this equipment are carrying out in one drum, so it is also called drum asphalt mixing plant.

2.According to the marked capacity
(1) Small plant: marked capacity is less than 60t/h;
(2) Medium plant: marked capacity is more than 70-140t/h;
(3) Large plant: marked capacity is above 150t/h.
At present, the marked capacity of small asphalt mixing plant can be smaller than 8t/h while the largest type can achieve 450t/h.

3.According to flexibility: fixed, semi fixed and movable type.
Fixed asphalt mixing plant uses stone bolts fixed in the groundwork, it belongs to large or medium-sized equipments. Installation and moving quantities are large.

Independent devices of semi fixed asphalt mixing plant can be separately installed in several platform lorry and transported by tractor. In the construction site, they are lifted by the legs of trailer. Therefore, it only needs small quantities of installation. This plant is also very convenient to tear down when moved. Now, this type of plant is always equipped with self-inflatable wheel walk device, it can be transported directly by tractor after torn down.

The whole set of devices of movable asphalt mixing plant are installed in the chassis of tractor. It only needs to be mounted by tractor head to achieve site transfer and transportation. Due to the limited load capacity and installation site, the structure design and manufacturing technics are very simple, so this machine is only suitable for small-sized construction.
